Congratulations to Our Amber’s Legacy Warrior, Andy! 💚
A huge congratulations to our amazing Amber’s Legacy Warrior, Andrew Steven Knightson, who completed the Great North Run today in an incredible time of 1 hour and 41 minutes, helping to raise awareness of cervical cancer along the way.
Andy’s achievement means so much to us at Amber’s Legacy, because his reason for supporting our work is deeply personal.
Andy sadly lost his beautiful partner, Jody Oxley, in 2024. Since losing Jody, Andy has continued to show incredible strength and dedication by supporting Amber’s Legacy and helping us raise awareness of cervical cancer and the importance of women’s health.
Andy regularly attends our charity events and fundraisers, always showing up, getting involved and helping us keep the conversation going.
Today, he took on the challenge of the Great North Run — not only completing the iconic 13.1-mile route, but doing so while carrying an incredibly important message with him.
🏃♂️ 13.1 miles for awareness
The Great North Run is one of the biggest and most recognisable half marathons in the world, and Andy used this incredible challenge as another opportunity to help shine a light on cervical cancer awareness.
Every conversation, every fundraiser and every person who helps spread awareness matters.
At Amber’s Legacy, we believe that remembering those we have lost should also mean continuing to fight for greater awareness, earlier detection, education and support for others.
Andy is a wonderful example of how someone can turn personal loss into a commitment to helping others.
