What an incredible day!
Can You Walk It? 2026 was everything we hoped it would be and more. We are absolutely overwhelmed to announce that, thanks to the generosity, dedication and support of our amazing community, we raised an incredible £10,000 for Amber's Legacy.
Every step taken helped raise awareness of cervical cancer, the importance of cervical screening and HPV vaccination, while also supporting women and families affected by cervical cancer. It was a day filled with hope, remembrance, friendship and determination, reminding us all just how powerful a community can be when it comes together for an important cause.
This year's event marked our 7th annual Can You Walk It? walk, and once again you made it truly unforgettable. Whether you walked, volunteered, donated, sponsored someone, or cheered our walkers on along the route, you played a part in making this event such an incredible success. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

There are so many people who helped make the day possible, and we would like to give a special thank you to:
- The Queen Vic Hotel, Sunderland for hosting our presentation and celebrations afterwards, and for generously providing food for all of our walkers.
- Paul Shickle and Kelly for providing fantastic live entertainment and creating such a wonderful atmosphere, including choosing a very special song that made the day even more memorable.
- Rhysie "Captain PubWatch" Jones for his continued support.
- Our resident DJ Jacko, who kept the celebrations going throughout the afternoon.
- John, our photographer, who returns year after year to capture the special moments and memories we'll treasure forever.
- Cral, who once again looked after registrations, banking and counting every penny with care and dedication.
- Annabel Rhodes Capper, for helping present our medals and certificates to all of our amazing participants.
Jody Oxley Memorial Award
A huge congratulations to James Martin, who was presented with this year's Jody Oxley Memorial Award in recognition of his outstanding commitment and hard work in raising awareness throughout the year. It is a thoroughly deserved honour, and we thank James for everything he continues to do to support our mission.
Looking Ahead
The success of Can You Walk It? 2026 has inspired us more than ever to continue raising awareness and supporting women across our communities.
